Purchasing Manager in Chertsey

Posted by TEAM

Getting the right products in the right place at the right time takes more than placing orders – it takes accurate forecasting, smart inventory decisions and a team that knows exactly what needs to happen next. As a Purchasing Manager, you'll take ownership of that operation, leading a team while improving demand planning, replenishment and stock performance across an established international distribution business.

You'll have the scope to influence how the supply chain operates, using data to make better decisions, working closely with suppliers and internal teams, and helping create a more resilient and efficient operation.

What’s in it for you
  • Competitive salary package
  • Pension contributions of up to 12%
  • Bonus scheme
  • Subsidised healthcare
  • 25 days' annual leave
  • A broad leadership position with influence across inventory, forecasting, supplier coordination and wider supply chain projects
Your responsibilities as Purchasing Manager
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of approximately 4–8 Product Coordinators, creating a capable and effective operation
  • Work with Product Management to build short- to mid-term demand plans using sales history, market trends and commercial insight
  • Improve replenishment processes, including MRP and safety-stock parameters, to balance availability against excess inventory
  • Monitor slow-moving and aged stock, taking proactive action to improve inventory performance and reduce unnecessary exposure
  • Support new product and supplier onboarding while coordinating supplier service, quality and availability issues
  • Produce inventory reports, KPIs and forecasts, turning complex data into useful insight for senior stakeholders
What we’re looking for in a Purchasing Manager
  • Strong end-to-end supply chain knowledge with proven experience in procurement, demand planning, replenishment and inventory management
  • Experience managing supplier lead times, pricing and stock availability, alongside knowledge of international shipping, customs, import and export requirements
  • Strong analytical capability with experience working with complex datasets, ERP systems and business intelligence tools; SAP BI/SAC exposure would be advantageous
  • Experience leading and developing a team within a supply chain environment and working effectively across multiple functions
  • A relevant diploma, degree or professional qualification such as CIPS would be advantageous
