OCS are currently working with an established specialist contractor delivering complex construction and civil engineering projects across the UK and Europe.
The business has developed significant experience across groundworks, concrete, rebar, formwork, civil engineering and data-centre construction, with an expanding international project portfolio.

They are now looking to strengthen their project team with an experienced QA Manager to take ownership of quality across a major Data Centre development in Milan.

The Role
As QA Manager, you will take a lead role in ensuring that the project is delivered in accordance with the client's specifications, approved drawings, quality procedures and programme requirements. You will work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, engineers, subcontractors and client representatives to maintain a proactive, right-first-time approach to quality.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking overall responsibility for QA/QC activities across the project
  • Developing and implementing project-specific Quality Plans
  • Preparing, reviewing and managing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Carrying out regular site inspections, audits and quality walkdowns
  • Reviewing subcontractor quality documentation and procedures
  • Ensuring works comply with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements
  • Managing NCRs, defects and corrective actions through to close-out
  • Working closely with site teams to identify and resolve quality issues
  • Coordinating inspections with the client and relevant stakeholders
  • Monitoring subcontractor performance and quality standards
  • Maintaining accurate quality records and project documentation
  • Supporting the testing, commissioning and handover processes
  • Ensuring as-built documentation and quality dossiers are completed
  • Producing regular quality reports for project and senior management
  • Driving continuous improvement and a strong quality culture across the project

Ideally, you will have:

  • Proven experience in a senior QA/QC position within construction
  • Previous experience on Data Centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or other mission-critical projects
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems
  • Experience developing and managing Quality Plans and ITPs
  • Strong experience with inspections, audits, NCRs and corrective actions
  • Experience managing subcontractor quality requirements
  • Good understanding of civil, structural and construction activities
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • The confidence to challenge issues and drive quality improvements
  • Relevant engineering, construction or quality qualification
