Holbeach | Fresh Produce | Quality-Focused Role

Love fresh produce? Have a sharp eye for quality? And aren't afraid to make the call when something isn't quite right?

We're looking for a QA Inspector to join the team in Holbeach, playing a key role in making sure the produce leaving site is exactly where it needs to be in terms of quality, specification and compliance.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be right in the middle of the operation - checking incoming produce, monitoring quality through production and making sure finished product meets customer expectations.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

You'll be responsible for:

  • Inspecting incoming, in-production, stored and finished fresh produce against customer specifications.
  • Assessing weights, colour, defects and overall product quality.
  • Making decisions on whether product needs to be re-sorted, rejected or ripened.
  • Carrying out additional and destructive testing where required.
  • Monitoring GMP, hygiene, packing standards and product quality throughout production.
  • Tracking reject rates and highlighting quality issues to the relevant teams.
  • Checking transport conditions and recording any issues that could lead to claims.
  • Carrying out regular checks and calibration of QA equipment.
  • Checking labels and product information for compliance.
  • Maintaining accurate QA records, traceability information and documentation.
  • Supporting audits and requirements linked to BRC and customer standards.
  • Coaching production colleagues on quality, GMP and correct procedures.
  • Helping train new and inexperienced members of the QA team.
  • Keeping your area clean, organised and compliant with hygiene standards.
  • Escalating significant quality issues where a more senior technical view is required.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We're looking for someone who:

Has a good understanding of fresh produce quality and can recognise defects and quality issues.

Is confident making decisions and standing behind them.

Can work at pace in a fast-moving production environment.

Has good communication skills and can influence colleagues across QA and Operations.

Has good IT skills, including Excel and Word.

Is comfortable working with specifications, records, data and technical documentation.

Fresh produce experience would be a big advantage, although we're also open to people with strong QA experience and the right attitude who are keen to develop their product knowledge.

Audit training would be desirable.

If you're ready to put your quality knowledge to work in a busy fresh produce environment, we'd love to hear from you. Please contact Luan Harrison on (phone number removed)
