We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance / Quality Control Engineer to join an established MEP subcontractor delivering major works on HS2 in West London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QA/QC Engineer with an electrical bias to join a growing business and play a key role in maintaining quality standards across a major infrastructure project.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all MEP installation and construction activities are completed to the required quality, specification and project standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and maintaining project quality assurance and quality control procedures
- Carrying out inspections and quality checks across electrical and MEP installations
- Reviewing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation and technical submissions
- Ensuring works are completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings and relevant standards
- Raising, recording and closing out NCRs and quality issues
- Completing inspection records and maintaining accurate quality documentation
- Working closely with site management, engineers, supervisors and subcontractors to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Monitoring installation quality and identifying areas for improvement
- Ensuring relevant testing and inspection requirements are completed and documented
- Liaising with the client, consultants and other project stakeholders where required
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of project quality processes
The Ideal Candidate
We are ideally looking for someone from an electrical engineering / electrical installation background who has progressed into a QA/QC position.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience working in QA/QC within MEP or electrical construction
- A strong electrical bias/background
- Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
- Good understanding of electrical installation, inspection and testing
- Knowledge of ITPs, NCRs, quality inspections and QA/QC procedures
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Experience working with clients, consultants and project teams
- Ideally, experience working on HS2 or other major infrastructure projects
