Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Manager (QHSE) – Nuneaton

Full time, permanent - 37 hour per week

Salary: Negotiable dependent on experince

The Role

  • Manage the site’s integrated ISO9001, ISO14001 and AS9100 management systems within a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental legislation and standards.
  • Manage all aspects of the site’s Health & Safety arrangements, including risk assessments, inspections, incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Act as a key QHSE contact for customers, suppliers and other company sites.
  • Monitor and report monthly QHSE KPIs against established objectives and targets.
  • Lead management reviews and coordinate internal and external audit activity.
  • Manage QHSE documentation, procedures, SOPs, work instructions and revision control.
  • Conduct internal audits, produce audit reports and raise and manage non-conformances.
  • Work with relevant departments to identify root causes, implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support day-to-day quality and QHSE problem solving across the site.
  • Provide QHSE guidance, coaching and mentoring to employees and the wider management team.

Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a QHSE, Quality or H&S management role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong working knowledge and practical experience of ISO9001, ISO14001 and AS9100.
  • Previous AS9100 experience is essential.
  • Strong practical Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and experience maintaining site legal compliance.
  • Experience completing risk assessments, site inspections and incident investigations.
  • Trained and experienced in conducting internal audits against relevant management standards.
  • Experience managing non-conformances, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • PPAP knowledge and experience is desirable.
  • Ideally, a recognised Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent engineering/manufacturing background.
  • Experience using conventional inspection equipment.
  • Experience using CAD systems to view 3D components, such as SpinFire, CATIA or SolidView.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Qualifications & Skills

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • AIEMA or equivalent Environmental Management qualification is desirable; 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical and organised approach.
  • Good mentoring and coaching skills with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
