Teacher of English QTS required - one term

Smile Education have an exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious English teaching practitioner to join a constantly improving and highly aspirational English department in an Ofsted rated  ‘Good’ school for an academic term in the new year. 

In this English teaching position you will work closely with the Curriculum Leader and KS3 Lead and be a key stakeholder in the development of teaching and learning within the department, wider strategic planning and the provision of extra-curricular and enrichment activities. You will have responsibility for curriculum planning and delivery of Key Stage 3 English, as well as some occaional work in Key Stage 4.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with English leaders across the Trust and have meaningful impact on the development and refinement of Trust-wide provision of English. As a through-school we are developing the provision of the English curriculum through the Key Stages, and you will work with primary colleagues to build an innovative and ambitious programme of English study.  

The chosen English teacher will need to:
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner
  • Have the ability to lead, motivate and inspire staff and pupils
  • Have a drive for continuing professional development
  • Have experience of managing change and development
  • Have high expectations of all pupils
  • Be committed to continuous improvement and engage in research
  • Be excited by the prospect and opportunities of working in a Multi Academy Trust
  • Starts on Aug the 24th 2026
The indoor and outdoor spaces you work in are stimulating, clean and tidy. Relationships between staff and pupils are polite and respectful and your pupils work hard in lessons, making secure progress. This is supported with a strong pastoral programme throughout the school. 
 
The academy is based close to Loughborough and is recruiting a fixed term Teacher of English (QTS) to join its expanding curriculum offering. You will be teaching English to KS3 and occasionally KS4 pupils and inspiring them to exceed their target grades.
