Qualified Children's Social Worker

📍 Location: West Midlands (Leominster area)
💷 Rate: Up to £30.57 per hour
📅 Contract: Initial 3-month contract with the potential for extension
⏰ Hours: 37 hours per week

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join a Family Help team within a local authority.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, locality-based team, helping children and families achieve positive outcomes through early intervention, safeguarding and multi-agency working.

As a Social Worker within the Family Help team, you will manage a varied caseload, working directly with children, young people and their families to assess need, reduce risk and deliver effective interventions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a caseload of children and families requiring statutory intervention.

• Completing assessments, developing Family Help Plans and reviewing progress.

• Working closely with partner agencies to deliver coordinated support.

• Chairing and attending Child in Need, Core Group and Strategy Meetings.

• Undertaking safeguarding and risk assessments where concerns arise.

• Building positive relationships with children and families using a strengths-based approach.

• Preparing high-quality reports and maintaining accurate case records, including court work where required.

To be considered, you will have:

• A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent).

• Current Social Work England registration.

• At least 3 years' post-qualified experience within Children's Services.

• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.

• Experience within Family Help, Child Protection, Assessment or similar frontline teams.

• Excellent assessment, communication and report-writing skills.

• The ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.

• hourly rate of up to £30.57 per hour.
