Your new role
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting children aged 2-5 years, helping them to develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
Your day to day duties will include:
- Supporting class teachers and nursery practitioners with daily activities
- Promoting children's learning through play-based experiences
- Assisting with phonics, early literacy, numeracy, and language development
- Supporting children's social, emotional, and physical development
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in the classroom
- Working with children who may have additional needs or SEND requirements
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for an Early Years Teaching Assistant role via Hays Education you should have:
- A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, Supporting Teaching & Learning, or equivalent
- Experience working in an early year, nursery, preschool, or reception setting
- A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach
- A good understanding of the EYFS framework
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
