Are you a Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with experience in fostering, children's services, or supporting foster carers? We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, the London Borough of Ealing, for an experienced and committed Fostering Support Social Worker to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Social Worker looking to make a positive difference to children and young people, while providing high-quality support to foster carers.



About the Role

As a Fostering Support Social Worker, you will work alongside foster carers, children, young people and other professionals to ensure that children in foster placements receive the support, care and stability they need.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing ongoing support, supervision and guidance to foster carers.
  • Undertaking regular visits and reviews of foster placements.
  • Supporting foster carers to meet the individual needs of children and young people.
  • Working collaboratively with Children's Social Workers, education, health and other partner agencies.
  • Contributing to placement stability and safeguarding.
  • Identifying and responding appropriately to concerns relating to children and young people.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely case records and reports.
  • Participating in meetings, reviews and relevant statutory processes.
  • Promoting positive outcomes for children in care and supporting permanency planning.
  • Ensuring practice is compliant with relevant legislation, regulations and local authority policies.


About You

We are looking for a Qualified Social Worker who is confident, professional and committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and families.

You will ideally have:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification.
  • Current Social Work England (SWE) registration.
  • Experience within children's social care, fostering or a related statutory setting.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and relevant children's social care legislation.
  • Experience working with foster carers and/or looked-after children is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
  • The ability to manage a caseload effectively and work independently.
  • A strong understanding of relationship-based and strengths-based social work practice.
  • A commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare.
