TeacherActive is proud to be working with a friendly and inclusive Primary School in the Basildon area that is looking to appoint a dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher to cover maternity leave from Jan 2027.

The school provides a nurturing and supportive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to reach their full potential. They place a strong emphasis on inclusion, pupil wellbeing and high-quality teaching, with excellent support available from an experienced and committed staff team.

The successful Primary Teacher will take responsibility for a Year 1 class on a full-time, 5-day-per-week basis. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing pupil progress, maintaining high expectations for behaviour and achievement, and ensuring that children of all abilities are supported effectively.

The successful Primary Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching within a Primary School setting.
• Confidence teaching and planning across the KS1 curriculum.
• High expectations for pupils of all abilities, including SEND and disadvantaged pupils.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A positive, enthusiastic and proactive approach to teaching.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a supportive school team.
