Are you an experienced Quality and Compliance Manager with a strong background in apprenticeships, further education or work-based learning?

This is an excellent opportunity to take a lead role within a growing apprenticeship and training provider, driving quality assurance, regulatory compliance, Ofsted readiness and continuous improvement across the provision.

You’ll provide professional challenge and support to operational teams, strengthen quality processes and help ensure apprentices receive a consistently high-quality experience.

About the Organisation

Our client is a growing apprenticeship and training provider committed to delivering high-quality learning and positive outcomes for apprentices and employers.

The organisation places strong emphasis on quality, compliance, safeguarding and continuous improvement, with a clear focus on maintaining inspection readiness and strengthening the effectiveness of its apprenticeship provision.

The Role

As the Interim Quality & Compliance Manager, you will lead quality assurance and compliance activity across apprenticeship and training provision, ensuring robust systems are in place and the organisation remains prepared for Ofsted inspection.

You will work closely with managers and delivery teams, providing constructive challenge, identifying risks and supporting measurable improvements in quality and learner outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and coordinate Ofsted inspection readiness across apprenticeship and training provision.
  • Act as a key point of contact during Ofsted inspection activity.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews, audits and sampling of apprenticeship delivery.
  • Develop, implement and monitor Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs).
  • Support the production and review of Self-Assessment Reports (SARs).
  • Maintain inspection-ready evidence for Accountancy and HR apprenticeship programmes.
  • Conduct monthly ESFA funding compliance audits and identify potential risks.
  • Monitor learner files, compliance documentation and operational processes.
  • Provide assurance around staff qualifications, DBS compliance, safeguarding and safer recruitment.
  • Analyse quality and performance data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Coach and support managers and practitioners to strengthen quality and compliance.
  • Track quality, compliance and improvement actions and provide clear reporting to senior leadership.
  • Maintain appropriate risk registers and escalation processes.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a credible and experienced quality professional who understands the apprenticeship and training landscape and can confidently operate at both strategic and operational levels.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Significant experience within apprenticeship, further education, work-based learning or training provision.
  • Proven experience supporting or leading Ofsted inspections.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and apprenticeship inspection methodology.
  • Extensive knowledge of ESFA funding rules, apprenticeship standards and compliance requirements.
  • Experience conducting quality assurance reviews, audits, sampling and compliance monitoring.
  • Strong experience developing and implementing QIPs and contributing to SARs.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding, Prevent and safer recruitment requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
  • The confidence to provide constructive challenge while building positive relationships with operational teams.
  • A highly organised, resilient and solutions-focused approach.

A DSL qualification, experience with Accountancy or HR apprenticeships, and a relevant quality, compliance, education or leadership qualification would be advantageous.

Why This Role?

This is a great opportunity to make a tangible impact within a growing apprenticeship and training provider, taking ownership of quality and compliance priorities at an important stage of organisational development.

You’ll have the opportunity to influence Ofsted readiness, funding compliance, quality improvement and learner outcomes, while working closely with senior leaders and operational teams.
