Quality Assurance Team Leader – Night Shift

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Team Leader to lead our night shift QA team, ensuring our products consistently meet customer specifications, food safety standards, and legal requirements. The successful candidate must have previous experience in a food manufacturing environment and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and excellent attention to detail.  Previous experience in leading a team would be desirable; as would qualifications in Food Safety or HACCP and internal auditing.

Shift Pattern: Sunday to Thursday: 6.30pm to finish

The working environment within food manufacturing is fast paced and susceptible to change, meaning you will need to adapt, and react accordingly to a varied workload. Examples of key duties include; 

·Lead, motivate and develop the Quality Assurance team, promoting a culture of quality, food safety and continuous improvement.

·Work collaboratively with the Production team to ensure products consistently meet customer specifications while supporting efficient operations.

·Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances, completing root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.

·Support Technical management in preparing for and participating in internal, customer and third-party audits.

·Carry out all Quality Assurance activities, including intake inspections, washline checks, factory inspections and ERP system quality processes.

·Monitor product shelf life, proactively identifying quality concerns and escalating issues where required.

·Support customer visits & external audits, ensuring the site is audit-ready at all times.

·Maintain accurate quality records & contribute to the reporting of site quality KPIs.

·Manage the site's GMP auditing programme & actively participate in the internal audit team.

·Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, food safety and operational performance.

·Ensure Health & Safety, Hygiene and Food Safety standards are followed at all times, promoting a positive Food Safety Culture across the site.

What You Will Need

·Previous experience leading a Quality team within a fresh produce or food manufacturing environment.

·Food Safety, HACCP and Internal Auditing qualifications

·Experience preparing for and supporting internal, customer and third-party audits.

·Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach and develop others.

·Excellent problem-solving skills and experience of root cause analysis and corrective action management.

·Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
