Frontline Recruitment Derby are currently recruiting for a Quality Control Assistant to join our reputable client's Quality team based in Leicestershire, LE7.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in quality control, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food production or another highly regulated environment, who is looking to develop their career within a quality-focused role.
About the Role
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring that products meet the required quality, safety and regulatory standards before they are released.
You will carry out routine and random quality checks throughout the production process, review documentation and certificates, and complete final product inspections to ensure that finished goods are fully compliant ready for dispatch. You will be working closely with both the production department and personnel ensuring they too meet the required standards in both their duties and their own PPE/Hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out random quality checks within production areas, checking works orders, stock and production processes against established quality procedures.
Complete final production checks at the end of the manufacturing process before products are released to market.
Review works orders and production instructions to ensure processes have been followed correctly.
Build and maintain works orders using the ERP system.
Obtain, review and file batch certificates for production batches.
Review and verify Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for raw materials, packaging and finished products.
Ensure 100% of batch documentation is complete, accurate and correctly filed.
Ensure all required documentation meets internal procedures and relevant regulatory standards.
Complete final checks on 100% of finished products prior to release.
Identify discrepancies, quality issues or areas for improvement and communicate findings to the relevant departments.
Work closely with Production, Operations, Planning, Purchasing, Maintenance and Quality teams to maintain high standards.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, compliance and quality excellence.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Good understanding of Quality Control processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), GDP (Good Distribution Practice) and other relevant regulatory standards.
- Experience carrying out detailed and accurate inspections and quality checks.
- Ability to review works orders, production documentation, packaging materials and finished products.
- Experience reviewing and verifying Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical and accurate approach to documentation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify and report discrepancies and quality issues.
- Strong team-working skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside Production, Technical and Quality departments.
Desirable:
Previous Quality Control experience within pharmaceutical, food manufacturing or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, CAPA or Fishbone analysis.
Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
Experience working within an ERP system.

Hours of work: Some flexibility in start times so either 7-3 pm or 8 - 4 pm Monday to Friday (37.5 Hour week)
Salary: Up to £15 ph, overtime at enhanced rates plus company benefits,
