We're recruiting for a Quality Control Supervisor to join a well-established global manufacturer specialising in high-performance sealing products and engineered material solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role where you'll influence quality standards across the entire manufacturing operation while developing a high-performing inspection team.

The Opportunity
Reporting into senior management, you'll lead the site's quality inspection activities, ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations, internal standards and internationally recognised quality systems including ISO 9001 and API Q1.
Working closely with Production, Engineering and Technical teams, you'll drive a proactive quality culture using data, problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and develop the Inspection, Subcontract and Stamping teams
• Oversee inspection of raw materials, in-process components and finished products
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, API Q1 and internal quality procedures
• Manage calibration records, NCRs, inspection reports and product release documentation
• Use SPC, Cp/Cpk and process capability analysis to improve manufacturing performance
• Lead root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Why and Ishikawa methodologies
• Implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Support customer, internal and external audits
• Work collaboratively with Engineering on new product introduction and first article inspections
• Drive a culture of quality, accountability and continuous improvement across the business
About You
We're looking for a hands-on quality leader who enjoys solving problems, developing people and improving processes.
You'll ideally have:
• Experience supervising quality or inspection teams within manufacturing
• Strong understanding of inspection methods, metrology and measurement systems
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and technical specifications
• Experience using SPC, control charts, Cp/Cpk and capability studies
• Strong analytical and root cause investigation skills
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
Desirable Experience
• Manufacturing or engineering background
• Understanding or previous work with metals / metallurgy
• API Q1 and/or ISO 9001 quality systems
• Oil & Gas, sealing products or precision engineering experience
• CMM or optical measurement systems
• Gauge R&R (MSA)
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (Yellow/Green Belt)
• HNC, BTEC, NVQ or equivalent engineering qualification
