Quality Engineer (x2)

Location: Ulverston, Cumbria (Office-Based, 5 Days per Week)
Rates: £22-£25 per Hour (Flexible for the Right Candidate)
Duration: 12 months + Contract Opportunity

Our Energy client is seeking two experienced Quality Engineers to join their Subsea business, supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of quality management systems and processes across a highly regulated engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and continual improvement of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Promote a proactive quality culture across engineering, manufacturing, project management, supply chain, and operational teams.
  • Identify, assess, and manage quality risks using risk-based quality management principles.
  • Analyse quality performance, trends, and customer feedback to drive improvement initiatives.
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001, customer requirements, and relevant industry standards.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement activities using methodologies such as PDCA, root cause analysis, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Develop dashboards and digital quality solutions to improve transparency and decision-making.
  • Deliver quality-related training and coaching to employees across the business.
  • Support internal, customer, and external audits and ensure effective close-out of findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to embed quality into business processes and decision-making.

About You

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Business Improvement, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within Quality Management, Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Continuous Improvement environments.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001.
  • Experience working within engineering, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies including root cause analysis, process mapping, PDCA, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance activities, and quality improvement programmes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality data and identify trends.
  • Experience within Subsea, Oil & Gas, Energy, Aerospace, Automotive, or Defence sectors would be advantageous.
