Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Location: Dudley. Easily commutable from Halesowen, Brierley Hill, Stourbridge, Kingswinford, Tipton, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
The Company
An established aerospace engineering and manufacturing company supplying high-quality sheet metal and machined components to the global aerospace industry.
The business supplies both engine and airframe components across military and passenger aerospace programmes, working with some of the world's leading aerospace manufacturers.
Due to continued growth, an excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer to join the team.
The Role
As a Quality Engineer, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, customers and the supply chain to drive continual improvement, investigate non-conformances and monitor quality performance across the business.
You will play a key role in maintaining high-quality standards while ensuring customer requirements are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and review FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports), including using Net-Inspect.
- Carry out containment activities where required.
- Raise, review and submit PPAPs in line with customer requirements.
- Perform internal and external audits.
- Host and support audits from customers and third-party organisations.
- Control and maintain required standards, data cards and manufacturing sequences.
- Manage and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Investigate non-conformances and support corrective and preventative actions.
- Work closely with customers, suppliers and internal departments to drive continual improvement.
About You
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Quality Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer with a strong understanding of quality processes within a manufacturing environment.
You will be:
- Highly organised, proactive and exceptionally detail-oriented.
- Customer focused with a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
- A confident communicator, comfortable liaising with customers, suppliers and internal departments.
- IT proficient with a good understanding of Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas.
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent, or higher.
Technical Knowledge & Experience
You should have a good working knowledge of:
- APQP
- PPAP
- PFMEA
- Control Plans
- MSA
- RCCA, including 8D, 3C and PIR
- FAIRs
- AS9100
- Microsoft Office
- Internal auditing
An Internal Auditor qualification would be advantageous.
You must also be confident communicating with customers at all levels and able to work effectively across a busy manufacturing environment.
