Force Contracting Services are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Kilmarnock.
The project is due to commence in mid-September 2026 and is expected to run for approximately 2 years.
The successful candidate will have a strong civil engineering quality background, relevant experience working on BESS sites, and a good understanding of quality requirements across major construction projects.
Scope of Works:
- Enabling works
- Site preparation
- Earthworks
- Drainage
- Access roads
- Hardstanding
- Equipment foundations
- Fencing foundations
- Ducting and trenching
- Reinstatement
- All associated civil works required to provide a complete and operational BESS site
Responsibilities:
- Manage quality assurance processes across the civil works, including preparing and maintaining Inspection & Test Plans.
- Carry out inspections and review construction activities against drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Manage quality records, testing, material certification and inspection documentation.
- Raise and manage non-conformances, working with Site Engineers, Site Management and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
- Support client inspections, audits, snagging and project handover, ensuring all required quality records are complete.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a QA/QC or Quality Assurance role within civil engineering, with relevant experience working on BESS sites.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering quality control, including ITPs, inspections and non-conformance management.
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications and identify quality issues.
- Strong attention to detail with good documentation and organisational skills.
- Relevant engineering or construction qualification and CSCS or equivalent.
