Your New Role
As Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving product quality, supporting manufacturing operations, and ensuring compliance with customer and industry requirements. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and customers, you will lead investigations, drive corrective actions, and support the continual development of the Quality Management System.Key responsibilities will include:
- Verifying product conformity against engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Conducting inspections using a range of precision measuring equipment including micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, and thread gauges.
- Managing internal and external non-conformance reports and leading root cause investigations.
- Implementing corrective and preventative actions to eliminate quality issues.
- Investigating customer complaints and supporting supplier quality improvement activities.
- Supporting and maintaining the Quality Management System and assisting with internal and external audits.
- Analysing quality performance data and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Monitoring key quality metrics including NCRs, customer complaints, scrap, rework, and first pass yield.
- Supporting Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and wider continuous improvement projects.
- Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve quality and operational objectives.
What You'll Need To Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience within a Quality Engineer or Quality Assurance position in a manufacturing environment.You will also possess:
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience using precision inspection and measurement equipment.
- Excellent root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and report-writing abilities.
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
