Quality Engineer in Heaton Norris, Borough of Stockport

We’re looking for a Quality Engineer to join a specialist engineering business in Stockport.

This is a role suited to someone with quality engineering experience within a technical manufacturing environment, as you will be supporting production, managing non-conformances and using quality tools to improve products and processes.

What will you be doing as a Quality Engineer?

  • Developing and monitoring quality assurance and control processes
  • Managing non-conformances through root cause, containment and corrective actions
  • Driving continuous improvement using A3, 8D, PFMEA, DMAIC and Lean techniques
  • Supporting APQP, PPAP, FAIRs, FMEA and Control Plan activity
  • Carrying out internal and external process and system audits
  • Providing hands-on quality support and guidance to Production teams
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of the Integrated Management System
  • Creating and updating quality procedures, work instructions and SOPs
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers and Quality Assurance representatives
  • Supporting product conformity and release to customers

What will you need?

  • Degree, HND or HNC in Engineering or Quality
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Working knowledge of A3, 8D, Lean and 5S
  • Previous experience in a similar Quality Engineering role
  • Qualified Internal Auditor
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and relevant quality accreditations
  • Strong understanding of quality control processes and standards
  • Experience dealing with customers, suppliers and accreditation bodies
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Cpk, R&R, SPC, FMEA and Control Plans
