Quality Engineer-Perm-Oxfordshire -£45k-£55k

An established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support manufacturing quality, inspection and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer -

  • Manage manufacturing quality, non-conformances and customer complaints using 8D / 5 Whys.
  • Interpret complex mechanical engineering drawings, including GD&T, and determine appropriate inspection methods.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal manufacturing teams on quality issues.
  • Produce inspection reports, quality documentation and control plans.
  • Conduct internal, process and supplier audits.
  • Support calibration and management of measurement and test equipment.
  • Train operators in inspection techniques and equipment.
  • Identify and implement improvements to quality and inspection processes.

Key requirements from the Quality Engineer -

  • 5+ years' experience in a Quality Engineer or similar role.
  • Mechanical engineering background/apprenticeship.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience with measurement equipment and producing inspection reports.
  • Confident working with customers, suppliers and manufacturing teams.
  • Good organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office.

Desirables -

  • CMM programming, PC-DMIS, tactile/laser measurement systems and ISO 9001 auditing experience.
