Our client are market leaders in their industry sector, they are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer on a permanent basis.
The job you’ll do
- Primarily located in the client's Sunderland site, this role will involve supporting all New Model Quality Assurance activities across the site.
- You will be responsible for the development of parts & processes, creation of QA documentation and maintenance of associated QA systems to satisfy all APQP and client NPL requirements.
- This role will cover all aspects of Interiors assembly and component part manufacture.
- The person that is recruited for this role will make a significant contribution towards the improved performance of these products.
- This will involve working closely with NMUK, major suppliers & client project team members within the Interiors organisation.
- Manage QA responsibilities of New Model Launches.
- Provide a key customer liaison to communicate part development countermeasures (PDR) in agreed timescales.
- Support part development, through all aspects of the trial build process.
- Represent the QA department within new model project teams, working closely with other client functions, external toolmakers, Tier 2 suppliers and Customers.
- Ensure APQP/IATF16949 documentation and standards are maintained throughout the new model process.
- Co-ordinate new model metrology responsibilities, to ensure all inspection standard and key feature requirements are completed in line with APQP/Project Milestone expectations.
- Clear interpretation of requirements relating to technical drawing and standards.
- Support of continuous improvement activities such as kaizen and process audits.
- Coordinate the submission of supplied part APQP and part approval.
- Support the new launch related activities, such as SOP ramp up quality planning, Gate review Management, Quality Functional Reviews, etc.
- Support Quick Response Quality Circle activities in relation to internal and Customer quality issues.
About You
- Ideally qualified to minimum of HNC level in an appropriate discipline or equivalent level of experience.
- English fluent, additional language is preferred.
- Ideally hold experience within a similar role, gained in a fast moving, automotive manufacturing environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive thinker and possess excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
- Excellent understanding of all aspects of APQP management and the IATF systems and processes that support this.
- 5 years high volume manufacturing experience, preferably including Interior parts and associated assembly.
- Good IT Skills (Microsoft Applications).
- Excellent understanding of metrology, including CMM, gauge development and implementation in a production environment.
- Process auditing experience, ideally including an IATF/ISO auditor qualification.
