An established aerospace engineering manufacturer in Southend-on-Sea is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to lead its Quality and Inspection function. They are looking for and Aerospace Quality professional seeking a 4-day working week, with greater autonomy and leadership responsibility. You'll own the QMS, lead the Inspection team and act as the main point of contact for quality.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS)
- Lead, support and develop the Inspection team
- Act as the main point of contact for quality matters
- Create and approve FAIR / LAIR documentation
- Oversee calibration, testing and qualification
- Conduct internal and external audits to AS9100 / ISO 9001 standards
- Act as Approved Signatory for release and inspection processes
- Manage VisualFAIR software training and compliance
- Drive continuous improvement and support business objectives
Skills & Experience
- Proven aerospace engineering experience - essential
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) / LAIR
- Experience with QMS documentation, FAIRs, contract reviews and calibration
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience conducting internal and external audits
- Experience leading or developing an Inspection / Quality team
- Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills
