Quality Inspector in Leeds, West Yorkshire

We are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector / Receiving Inspector to join a  meditech environment in Yorkshire.

This is a hands-on inspection role focused on incoming inspection, dimensional inspection, First Article Inspection (FAI), engineering drawings and quality documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out incoming inspection of components, materials and finished goods.

• Perform dimensional, visual and functional inspection against engineering drawings and specifications.

• Complete First Article Inspection (FAI) reports and inspection records.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T.

• Use measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges and gauge blocks.

• Apply AQL and statistical sampling plans to incoming materials.

• Record inspection results and manage accepted, rejected or quarantined materials.

• Support NCRs, root cause analysis and corrective actions.

• Maintain accurate traceability, stock and quality records.

• Support product labelling, DHR documentation, internal audits and quality reviews.

• Work in line with QMS, cleanroom and contamination-control requirements.

Experience Required

• Previous experience as a Quality Inspector, QC Inspector, Incoming Inspector, Receiving Inspector, Mechanical Inspector or Quality Technician.

• Strong experience in dimensional inspection and engineering drawing interpretation.

• Experience using calibrated inspection and measuring equipment.

• Knowledge of FAI, AQL sampling, NCRs and quality documentation.

• Experience within medical devices, aerospace, automotive, precision engineering, pharmaceutical or another regulated manufacturing environment.

• Knowledge of ISO 13485 and 21 CFR Part 820 would be advantageous.

• Engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC or engineering qualification preferred.
