Quality Inspector – Engineering & Manufacturing

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business, is looking to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector to join their quality team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Quality Inspector with experience in precision measurement, engineering drawings and CMM inspection to join a professional manufacturing environment where quality is at the heart of the business.

The Role

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that incoming materials, components, work in progress and finished products meet the required quality standards and customer specifications.

You will work closely with the production and quality teams to identify non-conformances, resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement across the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming raw materials and components to ensure they meet required specifications.
  • Carry out dimensional and visual inspection of finished products prior to dispatch.
  • Operate CMM equipment to carry out accurate dimensional inspections.
  • Use Aberlink software; experience with PC-DMIS would be advantageous.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, plans and tolerances.
  • Identify, record and report non-conforming materials and products.
  • Monitor production processes and carry out inspections at various stages of manufacture.
  • Prepare accurate inspection reports and maintain quality documentation and records.
  • Investigate quality issues and work with production to identify appropriate corrective actions.
  • Support the Quality Manager with the development and implementation of quality procedures and inspection processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production processes and reduce defects.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to production teams regarding quality requirements.
  • Assist with quality KPIs, performance reporting and customer satisfaction monitoring.
  • Ensure inspection activities comply with company procedures and required quality standards.

About You

We are looking for someone who has previous experience in a Quality Inspector role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

You should have:

  • Experience in dimensional and visual inspection.
  • Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • CMM experience.
  • Aberlink experience is highly desirable.
  • PC-DMIS experience would be an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production teams.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.
  • The ability to work independently and manage inspection priorities effectively.
