Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum, including nightshift rate
Shift: Monday – Wednesday
Are you an experienced Quality Inspector looking for a well-paid nightshift position with a genuine 3-day working week?
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a well-established precision engineering business in Wimborne, working on complex components for the aerospace and defence sectors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out First Off, Patrol, Last Off and 100% inspection.
- Completing First Article Inspections (FAI) and associated documentation.
- Inspecting complex precision-machined components against engineering drawings.
- Carrying out first-principle inspection using a range of measuring equipment.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications.
- Identifying and reporting non-conforming products and raising NCRs.
- Maintaining accurate inspection and quality records.
- Working closely with CNC machinists and production teams to resolve quality issues.
- Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high quality standards.
- Working in accordance with AS9100 quality requirements.
- Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within precision engineering/manufacturing.
- Strong engineering drawing and dimensional inspection skills.
- Experience with First Off / Last Off / First Principle Inspection.
- Experience within aerospace, defence or another highly regulated engineering environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of AS9100 and quality procedures.
- Experience with FAI / AS9102 would be advantageous.
- Confident use of manual inspection equipment.
- A methodical approach and excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and make confident quality decisions.
- CMM experience, particularly Mitutoyo, would be advantageous.
- Circa £50,000 per annum including nightshift rate
- Permanent nightshift position
- Monday – Wednesday working pattern
- 37.5 hours per week
- Overtime available on Thursdays
