We are a well-established precision engineering company supplying high-quality components to the aerospace industry. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector to join our skilled team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong inspection background who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys working in a modern, clean, and well-organised manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed visual and dimensional inspection of precision-engineered sheet metal components and assemblies.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to verify product conformity.
- Use a wide range of manual inspection equipment, including verniers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Operate automated inspection equipment, including Keyence measuring systems, to verify component accuracy.
- Record inspection results accurately and complete all required quality documentation.
- Identify non-conforming products and ensure they are reported and processed in line with company procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain the highest quality standards throughout the inspection process.
- Work safely at all times, complying with Health & Safety procedures and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards in line with our 5S system.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Quality Inspector within sheet metal manufacturing or a similar precision engineering environment.
- Experience within the aerospace sector or another high-quality, close-tolerance manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience using a variety of precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
- Previous experience using automated measuring systems such as Keyence would be advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection and record keeping.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
