To ensure that all incoming goods, components and materials received into the facility, as well as all completed products leaving the facility, meet quality standards, engineering specifications and customer requirements. The role is responsible for carrying out thorough inspection, verification and release activities throughout the product lifecycle, preventing non-conforming materials from entering production and ensuring only fully compliant, tested and approved products are despatched to customers. This position plays a critical role in protecting Fluid Water Group’s reputation for delivering high-quality, reliable pumping solutions and supporting our commitment to operational excellence.

Job Description
- Inspect all incoming goods against purchase orders, drawings, specifications and quality standards.
- Carry out dimensional, visual and functional checks on components and materials to confirm compliance with defined quality standards and supplier specifications.
- Identify, quarantine and clearly label non-conforming goods and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Support the Quality Engineer and Procurement team with supplier investigations, returns, concessions and corrective actions relating to rejected materials or components.
- Complete accurate goods inward records, including inspection results, batch traceability information and verification of certificates of conformity.
- Ensure all accepted goods are correctly booked into the appropriate systems and released for storage or production use.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications
- Practical experience in a quality inspection, manufacturing, production or engineering environment.
- Experience of incoming, in process and/or final inspection activities.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and manufacturing documentation.
- Familiarity with inspection techniques and measuring equipment including vernier callipers, micrometers, gauges and test equipment.
- Understanding of quality management principles including non-conformance reporting, root cause analysis and traceability requirements.
- Experience using ERP, MRP or stock management systems desirable.
- Knowledge of certificates of conformity, quality documentation and inspection records.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent record keeping and organisational skills.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
