Quality Inspector

As a Quality Inspector, you will work closely with the Quality Manager and wider QA/QC team, carrying out inspections and testing of semi-finished and finished vehicles.
This is a hands-on quality role where you will be responsible for identifying issues, ensuring they are properly recorded and helping the business find effective solutions to prevent problems from recurring.
You will work closely with teams across the business, using data and structured problem-solving techniques to support continuous improvement, product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out thorough inspections and testing of semi-finished and finished vehicles.
- Identify, record and report quality issues and non-conformance's.
- Ensure issues are appropriately contained and followed through to resolution.
- Support investigations into internal and customer-related non-conformance's.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Support the Quality Manager and QA/QC team with day-to-day quality activities.
- Help ensure products, services and manufacturing processes meet required quality standards.
- Support corrective and preventative actions.
- Use data and structured problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and improvements.
- Support the implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering and other departments to resolve quality concerns.
- Complete inspection and quality documentation accurately and thoroughly.
- Support the successful delivery of vehicles to customers within required timescales.
- Challenge existing processes and practices where improvements can be made.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality while working within a busy manufacturing environment.
You will need to be confident working independently, while also being comfortable collaborating with different departments and challenging quality issues when necessary.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Quality Inspector / QA / QC / Quality Technician role.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- The ability to understand customer specifications and quality requirements.
- Experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS).
- Experience of non-conformance and corrective action processes.
- A structured and data-driven approach to problem solving.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies would be advantageous.
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- The confidence to work with and communicate across different departments.
- The ability to work effectively in a busy, volume manufacturing environment.
- A practical, pragmatic and common-sense approach.
- A proactive "can-do" attitude and willingness to get involved.
