An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a well-established precision engineering business manufacturing high-precision, safety-critical components.

Working within the Quality team, you will be responsible for inspecting precision-engineered components, ensuring they meet customer specifications and quality standards before release to production or the customer.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:
  • Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision-engineered components.
  • Programming and operating CMM equipment as part of the inspection process.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications.
  • Producing and reviewing inspection reports and First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102).
  • Supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions relating to non-conforming products.
  • Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to maintain quality standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001 and customer requirements.
  • Maintaining calibration records and measurement traceability.
  • Supporting internal and external audits and continuous improvement activities.
About You

You'll ideally have:
  • Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within precision engineering, machining or aerospace.
  • Experience programming and operating CMM equipment.
  • A good understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience completing First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102).
  • Competence using inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, gauges and shadowgraphs.
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to inspection.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
  • Engineering or Quality qualification or apprenticeship.
  • Experience within a machining or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of SPC, MSA and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Experience of NADCAP, ISIR, FAI or PPAP.
