2020 Recruitment are delighted to be working with our client to recruit an experienced Quality Manager to join their team in Rochford on a 4 day working week.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aerospace quality professional to take ownership of the Quality Management System while leading the inspection function and ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory and industry standards.

The Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance and monitoring of the Quality Management System. You will lead the Inspection Team, act as the company's Management Representative for all quality matters and oversee the inspection and testing departments.

You will be confident working to ISO 9100 / AS9100 standards and have experience creating and approving FAIRs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality control throughout the manufacturing process in line with business standards and customer requirements.
  • Manage all calibration, testing, qualification and associated approvals.
  • Inspect and verify components throughout all stages of manufacture.
  • Ensure calibrated equipment is maintained and available to support manufacturing activities.
  • Deliver training on VisualFAIR software in line with customer and design authority approval requirements.
  • Create and approve FAIR and LAIR documentation.
  • Identify resource, investment and approval requirements.
  • Act as an approved signatory for release and other inspection-related quality processes.
  • Plan and conduct internal and external audits to ISO9100 and AS9100 standards.
  • Lead, develop and support the Inspection Team, driving continuous improvement.
  • Identify training needs and support ongoing skills development.
  • Manage daily workload, communication and performance within the team.
  • Participate in production and management review meetings.

About You

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Previous experience within the aerospace sector.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO9100 and EASA requirements.
  • Experience creating and approving FAIR / LAIR documentation.
  • Internal and external auditing experience.
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

  • Salary up to £50,000, depending on experience.
  • Four-day working week (Monday-Thursday).
  • Working hours: 06:45 - 16:30 (37 hours per week).
