Quality Manager in Redditch, Worcestershire

Salary circa £65,000 | Lunchtime Finish Fridays | 33 Days Holiday | Bonus

A Quality Manager opportunity has become available within an established manufacturing business producing precision-engineered components. The business continues to grow and is looking for an experienced quality professional to lead its Quality team, maintain compliance and drive improvements across manufacturing operations.

Reporting to the Senior Management, you will take ownership of the quality management system, customer assurance and accreditation requirements. The role would suit a hands-on Quality Manager who enjoys developing teams and working closely with Production and Engineering to improve quality performance.

Quality Manager responsibilities include:

• Lead and improve the QMS, maintaining compliance with relevant standards / customer-specific requirements.
• Manage internal, customer, supplier and certification audits, ensuring findings are closed and actions effective.
• Recruit, develop and motivate the Quality team, overseeing inspection activities through the QC Team Leader.
• Drive structured root cause investigations to reduce repeat defects, scrap and customer complaints.
• Maintain the business risk register and support compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Report quality KPIs, audit findings, customer concerns and improvement priorities to the Management Team.

Quality Manager desirable skills and experience:

• Previous Quality Management experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949 or AS9100, with NADCAP or SABRe experience advantageous.
• Proven experience leading audits and managing relationships with customers, suppliers and accreditation bodies.
• Experience developing and motivating Quality and Inspection teams.
• Practical knowledge of core tools, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
