We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Manager to join a leading manufacturing organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious quality professional to lead the quality function, drive continuous improvement, and ensure products and processes consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.
The Role
As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality across the manufacturing operation. You will lead the quality team, maintain robust quality management systems, and work closely with cross-functional departments to improve quality, efficiency, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the quality function to support business objectives.
- Manage, mentor and develop the quality team.
- Drive a culture of quality, accountability and continuous improvement throughout the business.
- Monitor and report on quality performance using key metrics.
- Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain quality procedures, inspection processes and documentation.
- Oversee incoming inspection, in-process quality, final inspection and product release activities.
- Work with suppliers to improve quality performance and resolve quality-related issues.
- Manage customer complaints, non-conformance's and corrective actions.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement effective preventative measures.
- Deliver continuous improvement projects focused on reducing defects, improving efficiency and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, supply chain and other departments to improve overall business performance.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure quality activities comply with company policies.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a Quality Manager or senior quality leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and quality assurance principles.
- Experience working to recognised quality standards such as ISO 9001 or equivalent.
- Proven experience managing supplier quality and customer quality issues.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
- Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality data and identify improvement opportunities.
Desirable
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or a related discipline.
- Internal or Lead Auditor qualification.
- Lean, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement certification.
- Experience with quality improvement tools such as 8D, FMEA, SPC or similar methodologies.
