About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quality & Health & Safety Manager to join the senior leadership team and take responsibility for the organisation's Quality and Health & Safety functions.

The role will be responsible for maintaining and developing the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with relevant aerospace standards, driving health and safety performance and leading continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Design, Logistics and Operations, you'll play a key role in improving Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People performance.



Key Responsibilities

· Champion a strong culture of health and safety and ensure safe systems of work are consistently followed.
· Ensure compliance with UK aerospace regulations, legislation and relevant industry standards.
· Develop, implement and maintain the Quality Management System in line with AS9100, NADCAP and ISO 9001 requirements.
· Maintain accurate records relating to quality testing, inspections and audits.
· Develop and maintain company health and safety policies, procedures and protocols.
· Identify hazards, assess risks and implement appropriate control measures across manufacturing, testing and maintenance activities.
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma and root cause analysis methodologies.
· Investigate customer complaints and quality concerns, driving effective resolution and corrective action.
· Identify quality-related risks and implement preventative measures.
· Conduct regular health and safety audits and inspections.
· Monitor and ensure completion of corrective actions.
· Establish quality control procedures covering incoming materials, in-process inspection and final product testing.
· Monitor manufacturing processes to identify and address non-conformances and deviations.
· Produce quality reports and KPIs for management review.
· Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
· Lead, mentor and develop the quality team.
· Deliver quality and health & safety training to employees, contractors and visitors.
· Work collaboratively across the business to ensure quality and safety requirements are clearly understood and embedded.



About You

· Previous experience in a Quality and/or Health & Safety management position, ideally within aerospace or precision manufacturing.
· Strong knowledge of aerospace quality standards including AS9100 and NADCAP.
· Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and quality assurance principles.
· Relevant Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent.
· Relevant quality qualification such as CQE, CMQ/OE or equivalent would be advantageous.
· Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, risk assessment and safe systems of work.
· Experience leading quality improvement and continuous improvement projects.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
· Experience using quality data and management systems to monitor performance.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across multiple departments.
· Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to develop and motivate a team.
· Able to operate effectively as part of a senior leadership team within a precision manufacturing environment.
