Job Title: Quality Technician

Job Type: 6 month contract

Hourly Rate: £15-19 per hour PAYE

Location: Maidenhead

A leading manufacturing business is looking for an experienced Quality Technician to join their Quality team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regulated engineering environment, supporting the manufacture and delivery of high-quality electronic and mechanical products.

Key Responsibilities for the Quality Technician:

  • Carrying out Goods-In, Work in Progress and Final Inspection
  • Inspecting mechanical and electrical products against engineering drawings and approved design documentation
  • Performing First Article Inspections in line with AS9102 and contractual requirements
  • Identifying and reporting non-conformances clearly and accurately
  • Completing documentation checks, including BOMs and batch cards
  • Selecting and using appropriate measuring and inspection equipment
  • Supporting root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement activities
  • Raising Supplier Corrective Action Requests where required
  • Conducting internal Product, Process and Quality Management System audits
  • Working within ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems
  • Verifying product compliance against IPC-A-610 and company workmanship standards
  • Supporting Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing teams with quality-related activities

 

The ideal Quality Technician will have:

  • Previous mechanical and electrical inspection experience
  • A strong electronics background
  • Knowledge of electronic workmanship and IPC standards
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • AS9102 and First Article Inspection experience
  • Auditor training or internal auditing experience
  • Previous release signatory experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to manage priorities and work effectively across different departments
