Quantity Surveyor in London, Greater London

£60,000 – £70,000 | Permanent | Full Time

An established UK construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its London team, working across a portfolio of high-value construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused QS who enjoys taking responsibility for the financial performance of projects and wants to develop their career within a well-established contractor offering long-term progression.

Working closely with the commercial and operational teams, you will be involved throughout the commercial lifecycle of projects, with responsibilities including:

• Preparation and analysis of project budgets

• Procurement and commercial management of the supply chain

• Preparation of subcontract order documentation

• Assessment and certification of subcontractor interim payments

• Preparation of interim valuations and final account submissions

• Management and valuation of variations

• Supporting Extension of Time claims and Loss & Expense submissions

• Identification and management of commercial risks

• Assisting with monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reporting

• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal project teams

• Ensuring effective communication between commercial and operational site teams

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who can demonstrate:

• A relevant degree-level qualification

• Previous experience within the construction industry

• Good working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract

• Strong commercial awareness

• Experience managing subcontractors and project costs

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Strong organisational and problem-solving ability

• Confidence working to deadlines in a project environment

• Ability to travel to sites when required

• £60,000 – £70,000 salary
