Quantity Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor with 2–3 years' experience to join a well-established main contractor with a strong pipeline of commercial construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a collaborative commercial team, working on a diverse range of new build and refurbishment projects across sectors including commercial, industrial, residential, retail, leisure and public sector developments. Working alongside Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, you'll play a key role in the commercial management of multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.

Responsibilities

• Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
• Preparing and reviewing tender enquiries and subcontract documentation.
• Processing subcontractor applications and valuations.
• Measuring and valuing variations.
• Assisting with monthly cost reporting and forecasting.
• Preparing client valuations and supporting final accounts.
• Monitoring project costs and identifying value engineering opportunities.
• Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
• Supporting the commercial team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

About You

• 2–3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Experience working for a main contractor is preferred.
• Good understanding of JCT forms of contract.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Degree qualified or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
