Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for both a Quantity Surveyor (QS) and a Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) to join a well-established construction business delivering fit-out and minor works projects across the Midlands and wider UK.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing commercial team with strong project pipelines, structured career progression, and exposure to a variety of fast-paced construction projects valued up to £5m.

Key Responsibilities

Quantity Surveyor:

• Assist in preparing cost plans, budgets, and financial reporting
• Measure works and support pricing of variations and change control
• Assist with subcontract procurement and order documentation
• Support subcontractor payments and interim valuations
• Contribute to monthly CVRs and cost reporting
• Assist with final account preparation
• Support commercial and site teams with day-to-day project delivery

Senior Quantity Surveyor:

• Take ownership of project cost management from start to finish
• Lead procurement of subcontractors and manage contract documentation
• Prepare and present monthly CVRs and financial reports
• Manage variations, change control, and final accounts
• Oversee subcontractor accounts and payment processes
• Identify and manage commercial risks across projects
• Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Experience within the construction industry (fit-out or building works preferred)
• Strong understanding of JCT contracts (NEC experience beneficial)
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Organised, proactive, and commercially aware
