Quantity Surveyor

M&E Quantity Surveyor – Nottingham. A leading UK contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction and infrastructure projects is looking to appoint an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Nottingham. You will be joining a growing internal MEP function working alongside a progressive MEP Commercial Manager.

The Role

As M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for the mechanical and electrical packages across a range of projects from pre-construction through to final account.

You will work closely with operational teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure effective cost management and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial aspects of M&E packages on live projects
• Procurement and management of specialist subcontractors
• Preparing valuations, cost reports and forecasts
• Managing variations, change control and final accounts
• Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice
• Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners

Requirements

• Previous experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor within construction or building services
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical packages
• Experience working for a main contractor or specialist M&E contractor
• Good knowledge of standard forms of contract
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Relevant construction or commercial qualification preferred
