I’m working with an established Surrey main contractor who are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, working across a range of projects throughout London.
Turning over circa £13m–£15m, they deliver projects up to £5m and are looking for a QS who is particularly strong numerically, enjoys getting into the detail of drawings and is comfortable supporting both the commercial and estimating sides of the business.
The Role
- Commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and project information
- Measurement and take-offs
- Assisting with estimating and tender preparation
- Procurement and management of subcontract packages
- Valuations, variations and subcontractor payments
- Cost reporting and commercial management
- Predominantly office based with site visits as required
Projects
- Projects across London
- Contract values up to £5m
- Refurbishment and new build
- Working across projects from pre-construction through to completion
What they're looking for
- Quantity Surveyor with main contractor experience
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- Methodical and comfortable working through drawings in detail
- Good measurement and take-off skills
- An interest in estimating alongside traditional Quantity Surveying
- Someone adaptable, keen to learn and not set in their ways
- Refurbishment experience would be beneficial but is not essential
- Candidates coming predominantly from a new build background will also be considered
