Build Recruitment are currently working with a leading national contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a major 10-year planned works framework.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with experience across planned maintenance, social housing, refurbishment or framework contracts to join a long-term programme of works.

Experience working with NHF and/or Target Price Model frameworks would be highly desirable.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day commercial management of planned works across the framework, working closely with the client, operational teams, subcontractors and wider commercial team.

You will be involved in validating properties and blocks, obtaining prices for proposed works and submitting costs to the client for approval, before managing the commercial process through to completion.

The framework covers a varied programme of planned works to houses, blocks and High-Risk Buildings, providing excellent exposure to a wide range of construction and refurbishment projects.

You will work as part of a wider commercial team and will have support from an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and potentially an Administrator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial management of planned works across the framework.
  • Validate properties, blocks and proposed works.
  • Obtain and assess prices from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Prepare pricing submissions for client approval.
  • Manage valuations, applications and payments.
  • Prepare and monitor project cashflows.
  • Assist with CVRs and commercial reporting.
  • Manage variations and changes to works.
  • Monitor project costs against budgets.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts and payments.
  • Assist with procurement and supply chain management.
  • Work closely with site and operational teams to ensure commercial performance.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
  • Build strong relationships with the client and supply chain.
  • Support the wider commercial team in the successful delivery of the framework.
Planned Works

The framework covers a broad range of planned maintenance and improvement works, including:

  • Windows
  • Roofing
  • Brickwork and external works
  • Front entrance doors
  • Electrical works
  • Mechanical works
  • Scaffolding
  • Planned works to houses and blocks
  • Works to High-Risk Buildings
About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in planned works, social housing, refurbishment or framework contracts.

You should have:

  • Previous experience working on framework contracts.
  • Experience within planned maintenance / planned works.
  • Strong commercial and cost management experience.
  • Knowledge of NHF and/or Target Price Model frameworks would be advantageous.
  • Experience with valuations, applications, payments, variations and cost reporting.
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts.
  • Good understanding of cashflow and CVR reporting.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines effectively.
