Exciting Opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor in North Yorkshire


An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing highways and infrastructure organisation delivering a varied programme of projects across North Yorkshire.


The successful candidate will provide commercial support across a diverse portfolio of highways schemes, including major highway improvements, drainage projects, junction upgrades and structural or landslip repair works. You will work closely with Project Managers, commercial colleagues, clients, designers and key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and commercially successfully.


The main duties of the Quantity Surveyor include:


·Managing project costs, budgets and commercial performance.
·Producing cost forecasts and monitoring project profitability and cash flow.
·Preparing cost, value and budget comparisons throughout the project lifecycle.
·Reviewing contract programmes and project risk registers.
·Providing commercial advice and support to Project Managers and delivery teams.
·Supporting the management of NEC contracts and associated commercial processes.
·Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
·Building strong relationships with clients, contractors, designers and internal stakeholders.
·Supporting commercial decision-making across multiple highways and infrastructure projects.
·Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with contractual, commercial and governance requirements.


The Quantity Surveyor will have key experience in:


·Previous Quantity Surveying experience within highways, civil engineering, infrastructure or a similar environment.
·Strong cost management, forecasting and commercial reporting experience.
·Experience working alongside project delivery teams on civil engineering projects.
·A good understanding of NEC contracts would be highly beneficial.
·Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
·Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
·An HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
·Membership of, or willingness to work towards membership of, RICS, CIOB or ICES would be advantageous.
·A CSCS card, or willingness to obtain one.
·A full UK driving licence is essential due to travel between offices and project sites.


The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £52,000-£55,000 alongside a strong benefits package including pension contributions, 24 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, professional-development opportunities and additional employee benefits.
