Quantity Surveyor

Rate: £54 per hour Umbrella PAYE
Location: Canary Wharf, London
Contract: 6 month Contract
Working Pattern: Hybrid / Project Based

Our client is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team supporting the delivery of a major infrastructure programme.
Job Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs and income within your area of responsibility, helping to minimise project costs while maintaining required standards and quality.

Key responsibilities will include:
Managing project costs, income and commercial performance
Preparing activity and resource schedules
Reviewing and analysing tender and contract documentation
Managing and monitoring subcontractor commercial activities
Preparing commercial reports, progress updates and financial reconciliations
Managing variations and compensation events
Preparing, submitting and negotiating claims
Supporting procurement strategy and programmes
Working closely with the wider project team, supply chain and client stakeholders
Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members where required

Requirements
Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor on major construction or infrastructure projects
Strong commercial and contract management experience
Experience managing subcontractors and supply-chain packages
Good understanding of variations, compensation events and claims
Strong commercial reporting and financial management skills
BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
RICS, ICES or CIOB membership, or working towards, preferred
Relevant CSCS card
