Quantity Surveyor – Civils

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established civils contractor delivering a range of projects across the North East.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused QS with a strong background in civil engineering and groundworks to join a growing business with a strong pipeline of work.

The Role

• Managing the commercial aspects of civils projects from tender through to final account

• Preparing and managing valuations, applications for payment and variations

• Managing subcontractor accounts and payments

• Cost forecasting and monitoring project performance

• Managing change, risk and commercial reporting

• Reviewing contracts and ensuring commercial obligations are met

• Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and clients

• Assisting with procurement and tendering activities

• Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting

About You

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering/groundworks

• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts

• Experience managing subcontractors and client accounts

• Good understanding of costs, valuations, variations and final accounts

• Strong communication and negotiation skills

• Able to work independently and manage multiple projects

• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent experience

Civils and groundworks experience is essential.
