We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join a successful construction and property business delivering high-end residential projects across London.
Working within the company’s City office, you will be involved in the commercial management of luxury residential refurbishments, bespoke fit-outs, new-build homes and high-specification developments, working with discerning clients and leading consultants across some of London’s most prestigious locations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working on complex, design-led projects where quality, attention to detail and commercial control are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to completion.
- Prepare and maintain detailed cost plans, budgets, forecasts and cash-flow projections.
- Lead procurement and tendering of subcontractor and supplier packages.
- Obtain, analyse and negotiate quotations and subcontract agreements.
- Prepare valuations, applications for payment and monthly commercial reports.
- Monitor and manage variations, changes and commercial risks.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and final accounts.
- Identify commercial opportunities and ensure projects remain within agreed budgets.
- Review drawings, specifications and scopes of work to ensure accurate cost management.
- Work closely with project managers, architects, designers, consultants and clients.
- Assist with estimating, tendering and pre-construction activities.
- Maintain accurate commercial records throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction.
- Experience working on high-end residential, luxury refurbishment, fit-out or bespoke construction projects.
- Strong cost management, procurement and commercial reporting skills.
- Experience managing variations, valuations and final accounts.
- Good knowledge of construction methods, materials and specialist trades.
- Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, commercially focused approach.
- The ability to build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.
- Good IT skills, particularly Excel and relevant commercial systems.
