Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Manager

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Manager to join our growing team and support the delivery of works for a newly secured client. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys both the commercial and operational aspects of construction and wants to play a key role in developing a long-term client relationship.

The role will primarily focus on commercial cost management, with the opportunity to become more involved in project and contract management as the role develops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage subcontractor valuations and payment applications.
  • Prepare and submit client valuations and invoices.
  • Monitor project costs and ensure commercial performance is maintained.
  • Assist with cost reporting, forecasting, and financial control.
  • Attend the client's site in Manchester approximately twice per week.
  • Support the successful delivery of projects across the North West.
  • Prepare client progress reports and programme updates.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure projects run efficiently.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Assist with contract administration and project documentation.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager, or Contracts Manager.
  • Strong understanding of subcontractor valuations, invoicing, and cost control.
  • Good commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience producing progress reports and monitoring project programmes is desirable.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to travel to Manchester twice per week and work across North West projects.
