About the role of Quantity Surveyor

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be joining a Main Contractor who have a turnover of nearly £50m and a commercial team of approximately 10 surveyors. Their work is predominately new build residential and housing schemes, using both RC Frame and traditional construction methods under JCT D&B contract. The project locations are across South London.

You will be working both collaboratively within a team and independently whilst reporting into a Senior Quantity Surveyor and continuing to develop

Key Responsibilities of Quantity Surveyor

Include but not limited to:

  • Identify cost risks and opportunities throughout the development process
  • Prepare tender documentation
  • Negotiate contract terms and pricing
  • Manage subcontractor accounts from procurement to final accounts
  • Monitor cash flow
  • Produce monthly cost reports
  • Track variations
  • Administer construction contracts under JCT form

Key Requirements of Quantity Surveyor:

  • Degree in a construction related subject
  • Minimum of 4 years of surveying experience at a main contractor
  • Ideally experience on residential schemes
  • Live within commutable distance to South London
  • Client facing experience
