Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor - The Company

Our client is a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor delivering long-term water infrastructure projects across the South West.

Projects include water mains renewals, replacement schemes and associated civil engineering works across both urban and rural locations, typically ranging from smaller reactive works through to schemes of around £500k.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor - The Role

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit at Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

The role and level of responsibility will be tailored to suit your experience.

Whether you’re looking to build your commercial career with ongoing mentoring or already have the experience to independently manage multiple projects, there is genuine flexibility within the team.

Working on NEC framework contracts, you’ll support or lead the commercial management of a portfolio of water infrastructure projects from project award through to final account.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Assisting with or managing the commercial delivery of multiple live projects
• Subcontract procurement, administration and payments
• Preparing valuations, variations and final accounts
• Cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs
• Supporting the administration of NEC contracts
• Pricing and valuing additional works
• Managing compensation events and change control
• Providing commercial support to operational teams
• Building strong relationships with clients and subcontractors
• Supporting continuous improvement across commercial processes

Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor - The Person

• Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for a long-term career move
• Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying or another construction-related discipline preferred
• Experience within civil engineering, utilities or main contracting
• Knowledge of NEC contracts would be advantageous but training can be provided
• Water industry experience is beneficial but not essential
• Commercially aware with good communication and organisational skills
• Motivated to develop within a successful and growing business
• Full UK driving licence
