A leading, family-run construction company with 40 years of experience delivering award-winning solutions across the UK is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for their East Midlands division.
The Midlands division, established in Nottingham in 2015, has grown rapidly into a c.£60m-turnover business delivering projects up to £30m in value across education, healthcare, defence, blue light, custodial, and commercial sectors.
They work in partnership with clients including Nottingham Trent University, Loughborough University, Derbyshire County Council, and the NHS, and sit on multiple frameworks including Procure23 and the DfE Construction Framework.

The role
We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the Midlands commercial team, managing the cost and contractual position of projects from pre-construction through to final account, across a diverse project portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare cost plans, budgets, and feasibility estimates at pre-construction stage
- Measure quantities and prepare bills of quantities using recognised methods (NRM1/NRM2)
- Procure subcontract packages — tendering, negotiation, and subcontract preparation
- Prepare and agree interim valuations and payment applications
- Price, negotiate, and agree variations with clients and subcontractors
- Manage cost value reconciliation (CVR) and report on project financial performance
- Support extension of time and loss and expense claims where required
- Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors
- Work closely with site management, design, and planning teams to ensure commercial and contractual risk is understood and managed throughout the project lifecycle
- Support the bid team with commercial input on tenders and framework submissions where required
Who we're looking for
Experience and qualifications
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- MRICS chartership (or working towards) desirable
- Experience with JCT and/or NEC forms of contract
- Experience across education, healthcare, defence, or public sector frameworks is advantageous given project mix
- Full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel to sites across the East and West Midlands
