Quantity Surveyor – M&E / Ductwork

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established specialist M&E contractor delivering ductwork, ventilation and airside packages across London and the South East.

Based from the company's Romford office, with regular travel to live projects, you'll take commercial responsibility for your own portfolio of works and work closely with the wider commercial and project delivery teams.

This is a hands-on commercial position covering projects from initial handover through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

· Commercial management of multiple live projects

· Prepare and submit valuations and applications for payment

· Identify, price and manage variations

· Monitor project costs, margins and commercial performance

· Produce cost reports and forecasts

· Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts

· Assist with procurement and subcontractor appointments

· Review contracts and identify potential commercial risks

· Work closely with Project Managers to monitor project performance

· Attend client, commercial and progress meetings

· Carry out regular site visits

· Manage change control and ensure additional works are captured

· Negotiate and agree final accounts

· Maintain accurate commercial records throughout each project

· Support the wider commercial team as required

About You

We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in M&E, building services or specialist subcontracting.

Previous experience withinct ductwork, ventilation, HVAC or mechanical services would be particularly advantageous, although this isn't essential if you have strong M&E subcontractor experience.

You'll ideally have:

· Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within M&E or specialist contracting

· Strong understanding of valuations, variations and final accounts

· Experience commercially managing your own projects

· Good knowledge of subcontractor procurement and account management

· Strong contractual and commercial awareness

· Experience working closely with site and project management teams

· Good negotiation and communication skills

· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Full UK driving licence

You'll join an existing commercial department with the opportunity to take ownership of your own projects while working alongside an experienced wider team.

The position offers a salary of up to £75,000 plus package, depending on experience.
