Quantity Surveyor in North Seaton, Northumberland

MMP Consultancy is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our clients Asset & Property team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional to play a key role in the commercial management and delivery of planned investment and construction projects across a substantial housing portfolio.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day quantity surveying function, ensuring robust financial control, effective contract administration, and value-for-money delivery while contributing to the organisation's wider strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day quantity surveying and contract administration functions across planned investment and asset projects.

• Prepare, review, and administer contracts, valuations, variations, certifications, and final accounts.

• Support procurement and tendering activities, including preparation of tender documentation and pricing schedules.

• Monitor contract performance, project completions, cashflow, budgets, and commercial outcomes.

• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess project progress and commercial performance.

• Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial and operational risks.

• Attend and represent the client at pre-start, progress, partnership, and commercial review meetings.

• Support the ongoing development and integration of commercial and asset management systems.

• Contribute to service improvements, efficiencies, and social value initiatives across the business.

Essential Requirements

• Chartered status, degree qualification, or significant relevant experience within Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

• Strong track record of delivering quantity surveying services within the construction sector.

• Experience of procurement, project management, contract administration, and budget management.

• Ability to analyse complex commercial and financial data and provide clear recommendations.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience working as a Client-Side Quantity Surveyor.

• Knowledge of the housing sector and planned investment programmes.

• Understanding of current and emerging regulatory requirements within the housing and construction sectors.

• Knowledge of the Construction Act and associated legislation.
